Where to Stay for Your Zion Elopement
Planning a Zion National Park elopement is about more than just choosing a ceremony location. We can set the tone for your elopement by choosing a really incredible stay. Whether you’re envisioning a slow, intimate weekend for just the two of you or a multi-day celebration with your favorite people, choosing the right area can make your elopement feel more intentional and exciting.
Each area around Zion has a completely different vibe, so here’s a breakdown of the best places to stay depending on the kind of experience you want for your wedding weekend.
Springdale
Springdale is located right outside the entrance to Zion, so it’s generally the most convenient option for couples who want easy access to the main areas of the park. I only like to recommend staying here if you’re having an elopement with just the two of you.
Springdale definitely has more of a luxury resort feel compared to the surrounding towns, which makes it ideal for couples wanting an elevated experience close to everything. Because of that, it’s also the busiest area and tends to be a bit more expensive, especially during peak season times during spring and fall.
If it’s important to you to be close to the park entrance or your ceremony is inside the park along the shuttle line then Springdale is a great option.
Here are a few Airbnb’s that I love!
Queen Retreat near ZionZion Loft with Canyon Views
There are a few limited larger rentals if you’re planning a micro wedding!
These next 3 are all possible micro wedding venues where your guests can all stay on location. They are technically in Rockville, but very close to Springdale!)
Hurricane/La Verkin/Virgin
For couples bringing along family and friends, Hurricane and La Verkin are some of the best areas to consider. You’ll have a 25-30 minute drive to the park, but this area has a huge variety of larger vacation rentals, making it much easier to accommodate groups if you’re bringing guests along to your elopement. You’ll also find more properties that allow small ceremonies or gatherings onsite, which can simplify logistics if you want a micro wedding where everything is in one place.
Compared to Springdale, accommodations here are usually more affordable while still being relatively close to Zion. It’s a great middle-ground option for couples wanting convenience, flexibility, and space for guests without sacrificing beautiful desert scenery.
Luxury Glamping at Under Canvas Zion
Airbnb’s I love!
East Zion (Orderville, Glendale, Kanab)
East Zion is easily one of the most underrated areas for an elopement stay and my number one recommendation most of the time!
The East Zion and Kanab area feels much slower and more secluded than Springdale, which makes it perfect for couples wanting their wedding experience to feel intimate and intentional. The scenery out here is unreal and you’ll be living your elopement desert dreams.
One of the things I love most about this area is how versatile it is. You can find everything from luxury private homes to smaller design-forward cabins that feel incredibly special without the higher price tag you’ll often find closer to the park entrance.
It’s also much closer to the quieter areas of Zion, which honestly are the areas I usually recommend most for elopements anyways. You’ll avoid a lot of the heavy crowds while still getting those iconic desert landscapes.
Another huge bonus is that staying here makes it easier to turn your elopement into a multi-day adventure. You can easily include places like Bryce Canyon National Park, Kanab, or other nearby desert destinations as part of your experience.
Airbnbs
St. George
St. George is one of the most practical and budget-friendly options for a Zion elopement weekend, but is also the farthest from Zion NP.
This area gives you the widest variety of hotels, restaurants, shopping, and accommodations at a lower price point than staying closer to the park. It’s also a great option for couples needing hotel blocks or easier lodging logistics for guests flying in.
St. George is especially ideal if you’re planning to incorporate Snow Canyon State Park into your wedding weekend or if you’re eloping in Kolob Canyon. Being based here gives you easy access to both areas while still keeping Zion within driving distance.
While it doesn’t feel quite as immersed in the park experience as Springdale or East Zion, it can be the perfect fit for couples wanting a more relaxed and convenient home base.
